One Bag of Sugar

Usually I try to buy organic sugar, but for this experiment I needed the five pound bag. I remember hearing about someone likening five pounds on our body (aka FAT) to a five pound bag of sugar and just how heavy it can be. The person had left the bag out, highly visible on the counter as a constant reminder of what 5 pounds can look like. (I was even thinking of adding a face on mine to leer at me.) I know there are some skinny mini's out there, but for those of us that could stand to lose a bag or two I thought this was an interesting idea.
Any other ways that have been successful for you to lose the extra poundage? Please give me something other than the hard work of diet and exercise.

St. Michael's in Maryland

A recent vacation to visit family. Crab cakes and all things fishy.....YUM!

The pier.

My father-in-law's boat. Small but speedy!

Fishing. Harder than it looks to actually catch something other than twigs or seaweed.

The feeding of the ducks. Yearly necessity.

Boat gas station. Hadn't you always wondered how all that gas got into those boats too?

The windblown look....

The best part. Me, taking the wheel of a boat. One step closer to my dream of boat ownership. I think I am more of a pontoon kind of gal though.

Mad Libs

As a child, nothing was more entertaining on a long car ride then doing Mad Libs with my family. Thankfully, my children also enjoy the silly delight it brings.
Unfortunately, they also enjoy my weird bathroom humor and hence, the Mad Libs happiness was taken to a new level........ ah, the downward spiral!
Nouns like toilet, armpit, p**p, and fanny along with adjectives such as smelly, stinky, and brown were used abundantly. Their English class for the day..... Educational....that's my story anyways.
Nothing could bring more joy while trapped in a hotel, so exceptions were made....
Laughter that ensued.... Priceless!

I'm Here For You Giveaway #1

First of all, you need to turn your speakers on..... The ambiance of it all!

I do love to get free things, but even more I think, I love to give things away. So, here is my very first "I'm Here For You Giveaway". I know there are a variety of people that view my blog so I have decided to give a choice of items. Door number one is a lovely vintage sewing apron hand stitched. I believe ladies would lay this on their lap with their sewing supplies inside for easy access. Door number two, being modeled by my lovely daughter, is a set of eight blank note cards and envelopes with different floral scenes on the front. I took the pictures at the Mohonk Resort. To win, all you have to do is leave a comment stating which item you would prefer. If you do not have a blog account, please leave your e-mail so I can contact you. Signing up as a follower is not necessary but would be greatly appreciated. Plus, you would be able to check back much easier for further giveaways ;o) My goal is to hold a giveaway on the first of each month. All comments must be dated by August 7th and the drawing will be held August 8th so don't delay!
