Think About it Thursdays

Prayer is, after all, a very dangerous business. For all the benefits it offers of growing closer to God, it carries with it one great element of risk: the possibility of change. In prayer we open ourselves to the chance that God will do something with us that we had not intended.

That's what I love about prayer...the possibility of change! Great way to start my day!

Prayer is so powerful. It may not bring the change we expected or asked for, but is most often the change we really needed.

How wonderful of you to share that insight. It takes courage to listen and change is often scary but God is always there.

I loved your post.

Love this post. I was talking with my 6 yo yesterday about what we should actually be praying for...and GI Joe guys shouldn't be on that list.

Really interesting way to connect prayer with change. Are we truly ready for it?

Great comments! I had to smile with Chelle's. Maybe your 6 yo was thinking of the real GI JOE's that serve us! Neat.... :O)

I've prayed to God for most of my life, but I've never thought of it as a risk. You're right though, it can be so because many times there is change involved. Perhaps we should think of this before we ask.

Anne, Most of the time I feel like He is my only chance to make it through a situation. That's why I always try to include Him and pray for His will to be done.... :O) Hope you are feeling better!
