Think About it Thursdays

Benjamin Franklin quotes. I've heard many of them, but didn't know to attribute them to Ben.

Honesty is the best policy.
A penny saved is a penny earned.
A place for everything, everything in its place.
God helps those who help themselves.
Guests, like fish, begin to smell after three days.
In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes.

These two are for all my writer buddies. They made me smile!
Either write something worth reading or do something worth writing
Hide not your talents. They for use were made. What's a sundial in the shade?
P.S. Teresa (one of our cats) has reappeared after a six day MIA status looking a little more frazzled than usual but seemingly fine. Phhhhhew!

I am so happy for you about your cat:) We've had cats for pets and when they left, they never returned and it is heartbreaking!

Diane: I smiled when I read "God helps those who help themselves." My daddy used to say this was his favorite SCRIPTURE! Silly guy.

So happy your fur baby is home. What a relief!

We are very happy that the cat has come home. I've heard others quote the "God helps those..." as scripture also. It sounds good but is so unbiblical. If we HAVE to help ourselves, then there is no point in us needing God. :O)

Ben Franklin left us many words of wisdom. Love the quotes.

I'm glad your cat made it home.

Ben was such a wise old goat, wasn't he?
So happy your kitty has returned. Don't you wish she had a video camera attached and you could see where the heck she's been?

Write something worth reading...

I like that one.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Great quotes Diane. I truly get the God helps those who help themselves one.

Praise God your cat is back. That's a long time for a cat to be MIA. Whatever do they do when they're away from home, I wonder? If I use my imagination it sure looks fun, but I fear it's more like they got trapped in a shed or something and sprung like the dickens when escape time came.

Gotta love Ben! Can't you just picture someone rattling on to him and when they are done, he spits out one of his now famous quotes?

I love these! I never knew who originated the quote "God helps those who help themselves." I've heard it attributed to the Bible but I knew that wasn't true!

love that! What's a sundial in the shade? Amen!

If you can't write it, live it. If you can't live it, write it. If you can do both, I guess you have it made.

Hi Diane -

I especially like the last two quotes. Ben Franklin had a lot of wisdom.

Blessings,
